Online Quality Assurance Certification Review
The DACC Online Quality Assurance Certification will serve as an institution-recognized achievement alternative to the national Quality Matters certification. This OQA Certification will demonstrate that the course has met the criterion of the DACC OQA Checklist. An official review of a course is the best way to benchmark design efforts and improvements.
Reviews will be assigned to members of the OQA Team by the Director of Online Quality Assurance. All criteria on the checklist must achieve a “yes” decision by two out of three of the reviewers. If two of the reviewers mark any criteria as “no,” the course representative will be allowed one week to make updates and resubmit to the chair of the review team. The chair will then determine if the “no” can be updated to a “yes”. Once all criteria have been marked as “yes”, the faculty member will be awarded the OQA Certification that is effective for three years. The certificate mark will be placed on the homepage of the reviewed course. Faculty will receive a stipend of $200 for this achievement if the course is used as a "master course."
Priority of OQA reviews will be given in the following order:
- Courses that will be part of a program, degree, or certification will be marketed as fully online.
- Courses are used as a “master course” that is shared with other faculty.
- Courses that are transferrable – G Courses.
- Courses that are only taught by part-time faculty.
- Full-time faculty
- Part-time faculty
How to start the official review process:
- Complete a preliminary course review with an OQA Team Member using the DACC OQA Checklist Annotations.
- Make adjustments and updates to the course to meet all requirements.
- Submit an OQA Certification Review Application Form.
