Teacher Preparation Affordability Scholarship


The New Mexico Teacher Preparation Affordability Scholarship is designed to increase the number of teachers in the State of New Mexico through scholarships for students enrolled in educator preparation programs. You can find more information for it here:

How do I apply?

Step 1: Complete and submit your FASA: https://dacc.nmsu.edu/fa/fafsa/

Step 2: Make an appointment with the Education Advisor through Navigate or by calling 575-528-7338.

Step 3: Declare one of our fully transferable (to NMSU) 2 + 2 Associate degree programs in Education: Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Elementary Special Education, Secondary Language Arts, Secondary Social Studies, Secondary Math, and Secondary Science. Note: Students must take courses each semester from the declared degree plan.

Students must make Satisfactory Academic Progress to maintain this scholarship.

Funding for this scholarship is limited.

This scholarship is available at the Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree levels.
