At Doña Ana Community College, our shared commitment is to empower students to achieve their goals. Through the relationships we build, we often hear about the challenges they face, and a common, heartbreaking concern that emerges is often food insecurity. Central to our mission, and our collective response, is the Comfort Casita – our campus food pantry, which directly addresses this hidden barrier.
The reality is stark: a significant 74% of DACC students experience basic needs insecurity, with 62% facing food insecurity. This isn't just a statistic; it represents thousands of our students struggling to focus in class, often forced to choose between textbooks and groceries. To tackle this profound challenge, we established the Comfort Casita in February 2023, fostering stable learning environments where our students can truly thrive by allowing them to focus on their studies, not their next meal. Together, We End Hunger.

Since its inception, the Comfort Casita has provided free supplementary food assistance to all enrolled DACC students. We've made a tangible difference, having served over 2,500 students and distributed more than 10,000 bags of food across all DACC campus locations. Your support ensures our students are ready to learn and succeed.To ensure the pantry's ongoing sustainability, we seek your continued support.
