The Humanities and Social Sciences department offer courses from a broad range of areas that count towards the completion of an Associate of Arts degree and the fulfillment of requirements for other degree programs. The Public Health Program provides the initial course work to prepare students for a career in public health. Public health is a population-based focus to health, with a focus on education, evaluation and policy. Individuals in this field interpret community data to determine health assets and needs develop interventions.
