Biography

Christian Nordquist is an Associate Professor of English and Department Chair at Dona Ana Community College. He has nearly 20 years of experience teaching English at the community college level, with expertise in rhetoric and composition, developmental English, integrated reading and writing, technical writing, and online instruction. His professional interests include student success, assessment, curriculum development, faculty development, and institutional improvement. He holds an M.A. in Rhetoric and Composition from New Mexico State University and a B.A. in English from Schreiner College.

Christian is committed to collaborative leadership, supporting faculty, and helping students develop the communication and critical-thinking skills they need to succeed in college and beyond. Outside the classroom, he is married to his “fetching” wife, Elizabeth, and they have three grown children and three grandchildren. When he’s not working, Christian’s happy places are fly-fishing in the high country, exploring the outdoors by UTV, and spending time in the garden.
