VPN & Connectivity – How to Download VPN
The NMSU VPN uses the Cisco AnyConnect application to securely connect your computer or laptop to the NMSU network from any location. When connected, all NMSU-related internet traffic is encrypted and routed through the NMSU campus network before reaching its final destination. Because your traffic is sent through NMSU’s network, campus servers recognize your device as if it were physically on campus.
Using the NMSU VPN protects confidential information by encrypting it while it travels across the internet. Some NMSU servers and internal websites require users to connect from within the NMSU network for security reasons. The VPN ensures that only authorized NMSU personnel can access these restricted systems. Therefore, you should always ensure you are connected to the VPN when logging into DACC/NMSU websites.
DACC Computer Support Ticket
The DACC Computer Support Ticket System allows faculty and staff to quickly submit an IT incident or service request. Completing the online form lets users report issues related to desktop hardware, internet connectivity, network access, printers, software, phones, user accounts, and more. The system automatically fills in your basic information and allows you to specify your building location, room number, issue category, and a detailed description of the problem. You can also attach files or screenshots to help IT Support diagnose the issue more efficiently. Once submitted, the ticket is routed to the IT Support team for review and resolution.
Assist with MyNMSU Account and Password
For assistance with only your MyNMSU account and password, visit the Account Access & Email Support page through the NMSU Help Portal. MyNMSU
MyNMSU is the secure online portal for faculty and students to access institution-specific tools and services. After you log in with your username, password, and authentication code, you can access your business email, teaching schedule, course rosters, grading tools, and other college systems. Think of MyNMSU as your personalized access to the systems and information you need to carry out your academic and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
Canvas
Canvas is DACC’s learning management system (LMS) and the primary platform you will use to manage your courses. In Canvas, you can build assignments, upload PowerPoints, create discussions, post learning activities, and organize course materials for students to access at any time. You can also record and track grades, monitor attendance, schedule or link Zoom sessions, post announcements, and communicate directly with students through the Canvas Inbox. For most courses, Canvas serves as the central hub for instruction, communication, and assessment throughout the semester.
DACC Outlook
DACC Outlook is the official email and calendar system used for communication within Doña Ana Community College (DACC). In addition to your NMSU email address, you will be assigned a DACC email account. This mailbox is the primary way DACC administration communicates with faculty, including important announcements, policy updates, and campus information. Meeting invitations, committee meetings, and college events will also appear on your DACC Outlook calendar. Unlike your NMSU email, this address is not shared with students and is intended for internal DACC communication.
DACC Sharepoint
SharePoint is a web-based collaboration platform that integrates with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. At DACC, SharePoint functions as an internal intranet where faculty and staff can access news, announcements, events, departmental documents, and shared resources. It also supports document management and storage through OneDrive, helping ensure files are retained securely even if an employee leaves the college. Faculty can access DACC SharePoint through the DACC website or Office 365 using their DACC email credentials. NMSU SharePoint sites are accessed through MyNMSU or Office 365 using NMSU credentials.
Facilities Requests
Use this link to submit a Facilities request when you need assistance with your classroom’s physical environment. This includes concerns related to heating or cooling, lighting issues, broken or damaged furniture, room maintenance, or other building-related needs.
Please note: This form is for facility and maintenance concerns only. Requests involving technical equipment such as projectors, classroom desktops, laptops, or other instructional technology should be submitted through the appropriate IT support channel. Submitting requests through the correct system helps ensure timely and efficient service.
NMSU/DACC Academic Calendar
The NMSU and DACC Academic Calendars provide important dates for the academic year. These calendars include faculty and student start dates, registration periods, drop and withdrawal deadlines, grading windows, graduation dates, and observed holidays when the campus is closed. Faculty are strongly encouraged to review the calendar at the beginning of each semester and refer to it regularly to stay aligned with key institutional deadlines and instructional timelines.
DACC Catalog
The DACC Catalog is the official guide to the college’s academic programs and requirements. It serves as the primary reference for degrees, certificates, and other academic credentials offered at NMSU–DACC. The catalog includes a complete listing of academic programs and their graduation requirements, detailed course descriptions with prerequisites and credit hours, and important academic policies and regulations that guide students throughout their educational journey. It also provides information about tuition, financial aid, advising, and other student support services. Faculty should refer to the catalog when advising students, reviewing program requirements, or clarifying course prerequisites to ensure accurate and consistent guidance.
Contact Information
You can easily connect with colleagues and departments by using the DACC Key Contact List, the DACC Directory, and the NMSU Directory. These resources are designed to help you quickly find the right person and/or department across campus.
