DACC Virtual Art Contest

 

Spring 2024 Theme: "I Belong"

THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO APRIL 22!

Your DACC Cultural Diversity Committee is hosting an online art contest open to all current DACC students. The theme for the contest is "I Belong." Submissions will be juried by DACC students and selected for installation in the DACC Student Equity Space and the Equity Space art gallery at Espina Campus, DASH 98. 

We invite you to share your art submissions based on the idea of how DACC helps you feel like you belong. The contest will take place on the DACC Cultural Diversity Committee’s Instagram beginning April 1 through April 14, 2024. All DACC full and part-time students are invited to participate.

Contest submissions are displayed on the Cultural Diversity Instagram page @CulturalDiversityCommitteeDACC or go to https://www.instagram.com/dacc_culturaldiversity/.

 

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a registered (full time or part time) Dona Aña Community College student 
  • Willing to have your work displayed on DACC's social media pages as well

Submission Guidelines: 

  • Must fully be the artist’s original creation
  • Only one submission per student
  • Acceptance of submissions begin April 1 and closes April 14 at 11:59pm MST
  • Digital files must be attached to an email submitted to: CDArtContest@dacc.nmsu.edu
  • Include:
    • Student’s first and last name
    • Contact information (current email address and phone number)
    • Student banner ID
    • Title of work to be displayed with artwork (optional)
    • Artist’s name to be displayed with artwork (optional)

 

File specifications for Instagram*: 

  • Up to 8 MB. 
  • Formats: JPEG, PNG, BMP, and non-animated GIFs.
  • Square - 1:1 aspect ratio.
  • Portrait images - 4:5 aspect ratio. 
  • Landscape images - Max 1.91:1. 
  • Aspect ratio: Must be within a 4:5 to 1.91:1 range. 
  • Minimum resolution: 320x566 (lower resolutions will be not be posted)

Special Note: Your original aspect ratio may not be preserved. 

*Please be prepared with a higher resolution image in an 8.5 x 11 inch .pdf format for print in the event your image goes in the Equity Space art gallery.

 

Awards: 

  • 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place (determined by a panel of DACC student judges) and 
  • A Community Choice Award (determined by vote on Instagram). 
  • Prizes to be announced.
