Students at Doña Ana Community College (DACC) who take certain courses may be eligible to receive $500 for completing their courses.
This $500 stipend is being made available by the New Mexico NASA Space Grant AI Development Project this fall. It is offered to students who are enrolled in certain Aerospace Technology (AERT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses at the college. The purpose of the stipend is to encourage students to explore AI-enabled aerospace career pathways, strengthen their preparation for advanced coursework and projects, and support participation in the New Mexico Space Grant AI Studio and summer learning.
To be eligible, students must enroll in eligible courses, complete the course successfully, and meet project requirements. Students who qualify will receive their $500 after final grades are posted at the conclusion of the course(s).
“These stipends are an excellent motivator to not only encourage students to take these courses, but to complete and pass them,” says Dr. Laura De La Cruz, dean of Advanced Technologies. “At this time, we anticipate that all of our courses that fall under these categories will be eligible for students to apply for the stipend.”
There is a limited availability for the stipends, which is subject to project funding. For more information, please contact Dr. Laura De La Cruz at ldelacruz@dacc.nmsu.edu.
