Free Musical Performance Brings Crowd

Doña Ana Community College (DACC) recently hosted a free music concert featuring the world premiere of work by two award-winning musicians. The event brought in more than a hundred spectators. 
The performance was held Friday, December 5th inside the East Mesa campus auditorium. It featured musicians John De La Paz, DACC associate professor of Music on clarinet, Dr. Jeffrey Brooks, University of New Mexico associate professor of Music also on clarinet and Dr. Benjamin Loeb on piano. Dr. Loeb is an internationally renowned conductor, pianist, entrepreneur, and recent Grammy nominee.  
The performance included the world premiere of two pieces: “Little Foal” by Gary Kuo, a two-time Emmy award-winning composer and “Seanscéalta ‘Tales of Long Ago’” by R.A. Moulds. The two pieces were commissioned by De La Paz, Dr. Brooks and Dr. Loeb.
