DACC Announces Honorary Degree Recipient

Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is proud to announce its 2025-2026 Honorary Degree recipient during commencement exercises.  
Royal Jones will receive the honorary degree in Pre-Business from DACC. Jones is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and mentor, and the founder of Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT), which began in 1982. He will be honored with the honorary degree on Thursday, May 14th during DACC’s annual commencement at 7 p.m. at the Pan American Center.  
Jones is a major supporter of New Mexico State University, local students, youth activities and countless community efforts. Through MVT,’s annual charity golf tournament, the event has raised more than half a million dollars to help veterans, children, family, educators, domestic violence survivors, foster children and other needs in the community.  
MVT has grown to become one of the largest privately-owned trucking companies in the southwest with more than 1,700 trucks and 7,000 trailers. It is also recognized as an innovative leader in fuel economy.
