Doña Ana Community College (DACC) will hold commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 9 th at 7 p.m. at the Pan American Center, 1810 E. University Avenue.
DACC will be honoring students from the 2023-2024 academic year. The college will also be honoring its 2024 Honorary Degree recipient, Dr. Donald James Cotter, with an associate degree in Applied Science in Digital Film. Dr. Cotter is a New Mexico State University (NMSU) professor emeritus of horticulture and plant science.
Dr. Cotter’s contributions to DACC include the creation of scholarships, such as the Jim Putman Second Chance Endowed Scholarship and mentorships at the college. Dr. Cotter has published several books of his photography and has had his photography displayed within exhibits at DACC.
The DACC honorary degree is given to someone who demonstrates outstanding service to the college and community. This is the highest form of recognition offered by DACC to a person of exceptional distinction.
