Spring Art Show

Spring Art Show Features Creativity of DACC -

Las Cruces – Original works of art will be displayed by Doña Ana Community College (DACC) students, faculty, staff, and their children at the annual spring art show. This show has been held since 1998. First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded in different categories.

Michael Stewart co-chair of the DACC art committee knows there are some gifted aspiring artists at the college that people should see. “Several artists have great talent,” Stewart said. “Creativity is often encouraged and appreciated by those in an academic setting.”

The Art Show will take place on Wednesday, April 2 in the commons area of the Dona Ana Student Resources Building on the East Mesa Campus. Children of DACC faculty, staff, and students must be under the age of 17.

Entry forms and information sheets can be found on the DACC homepage or at the Health and Public Services reception desk at the Central Campus or at the Instructional Offices reception desk at the East Mesa Campus.
We encourage the public to come see this display,” Glenn Schwaiger, art committee co-chair said. “The public will have the final word on the best artwork exhibited as they will judge the “best in show” category.”

Entrants are limited to two original pieces of art that must be the work of that artist. The art must be suitable for the exhibit. Suitability will be judged by the art committee.
