Las Cruces – Nationally renowned motivational speaker and local Las Cruces businessman Jaime Castillo will deliver the keynote address on “Finding Your Passion” for the Administrative Professional’s conference on April 23, 2014.
For a second year, the Customized Training Program of Doña Ana Community College (DACC) will offer a special day-long conference. Administrative professionals will have the opportunity to update skills and receive personal development coaching designed especially for those who keep offices running at peak potential. The conference will be held at the Small Business Development Center, 2345 E. Nevada in Las Cruces from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and the cost for the event is $149.
Director of Community Education and Customized Workforce Training Vickie Galindo is sure this conference has something to offer all administrative professionals. “From the professionals just starting to those who have been in an administrative position for years will all get a great deal of knowledge from this conference,” she said. “This is a great way to catch up on the latest training, and learn more about the tools needed to continue to succeed,” Galindo said. “There are sixteen different breakout sessions,” she added.
Breakout sessions will give participants many options from which to choose and decide what topics are relevant and most important for them. The breakout sessions include computer specific workshops such as “Photoshop tips,” “making friends with Windows 8,” and “creating charts with Excel.” Other sessions highlight ethics in the workplace, business etiquette do’s and don’ts, or building trust in the office. Still other sessions will inform on how to make the best use of your time, how to be organized, and how to set realistic goals.
During lunch there will be a discussion of balancing work and family. A cap stone address by Mr. Castillo will inform on how to put together all the pieces participants have learned during the conference.
