DACC Truck Driving Academy
DACC Truck Driving Academy prepares participants to drive a semi-tractor trailer (Class A). Students prepare for the written exam and the driving skills portion as well as topics such as defensive driving, managing resources, trip planning, and vehicle maintenance. The program assists students with employment skills, including resumes, applications, job searches, and job placement.

Course Topics & Hours
- Commercial License Permit Preparation (80 hrs)
- Professional Driving Classroom Training (55 hrs)
- Professional Driving Skills (BTW) (44 hrs)
- Observation, Pre-Trip, Range (61 hrs)
Eligibility Requirments
To obtain a CDL, a driver must have a clean driving record, have a negative drug screen, and receive a medical clearance. Applicants to the program will get these documents with WDCR assistance and submit this documentation prior to course enrollment. In addition, applicants must have a valid driver’s license, picture I.D., social security card, and no outstanding tickets or warrants.
Tuition
Total Program Cost: $4000
- $200 - Application fee due with application (non-refundable)
- $1800 - Due at Registration with Application fee
- $1080 - Due Monday before the course start date
- $920 - Remainder tuition due one week before the closing of the program

Financial Aid & Assistance
Federal Financial aid is not available for DACC Truck Driving Program. Other financial assistance may be available if you are unemployed, or if you have a disability. The federal Workforce Innovation and Opfortuity Act (WIOA) funds eligible, in-demand programs that are designed for adults over the age of 18. Depending on eligibility, individuals can receive tuition assistance to help pay for their education. Assistance can cover tuition fees, books and supplies.
