Pottery for Adults


 

Workforce

Pottery for Adults is for the beginner or experienced! We take you from where you are and encourage the artist in you to emerge. Hand building, throwing on the wheel, sculpture, decorating, and glazing will be covered. Included in this session are screen printing underglazes. We will be using high fire reduction glazes in this class.

Supplies Required:

  • Small bucket
  • A hand-sized sponge
  • Old washrag/towel
  • Old paring knife 
  • Fork
  • Spray bottle
  • Small trash bag
  • Pen 
  • Notebook 
  • Any pottery tools you might have

 WEAR CLOSED-TOED SHOES.  An optional tool kit list will be available.  If this is your first or second session, a $9 clay fee is due first class. $13 if you have taken the class two or more times.  

Instructor, Jan Archey, loves to teach and encourage others to create.  She has taught Community Education class for years and her class continues to be a winner.

The class will be held in the DACC Workforce Center Ceramics Studio on 2345 Nevada Ave. Las Cruces, NM 88001

Class are offered 2-3 times a semester.
