Caroline Olivas (she/her/hers)

“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” -Edward Everett Hale

I grew up in El Paso, Texas and attended college at New Mexico State University. While at NMSU, I completed my B.S. in Kinesiology with a minor in Counseling and Educational Psychology.
During my time as a student, I volunteered as a college mentor for first-year freshmen and participated in various campus groups such as National Honor Society and Kinesiology Club. After graduating from NMSU, I didn’t quite know what I wanted to pursue for my career, and worked in physical therapy and college athletics, testing the waters of what might be a good fit. Through my trials and errors, I discovered a commonality with my academic and educational experience in that I feel most fulfilled being of service to others. My “why” for becoming a student success coach is my own realization that there is no “one perfect plan,” and because of this, I have a passion to help each student see their potential. I am incredibly excited to serve as a success coach to help students acclimate to college life, and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to create a life that is truly rewarding, both during their time here at DACC and beyond graduation.
In my free time, you can find me thrift shopping, catching a movie with family, or spending time with my white furred dog named Rocky.
