Academic Advising
Academic Advisors aim to help students to identify, plan, and achieve academic and educational goals. Advisors assist with Basic Skills Placement, exploring potential career paths/majors, selecting a DACC Program of Study, registration, creating or changing degree plans, checking progress towards a degree, applying and preparing for graduation, and understanding student account holds. The Advising Office also helps the college mitigate student demand and interest in courses, introduce new programs, and intervene on Early Academic Alerts.
Academic Readiness Center (ARC)

The ARC center offers DACC students free and accessible options for additional assistance in general course topics including mathematics, writing, biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, and more. Currently, 4 DACC locations house an ARC center – East Mesa, Espina, Sunland Park, and Gadsden Center. Appointments are not needed, and instead are on a walk-in basis.  Tutoring formats include in-class, face-to-face, and online. Students can receive assistance with more than one subject, and unless arrangements have been made by the professor and ARC coordinator, tutors are not permitted to do homework assignments, take-home quizzes, tests, or exams with (or) for the student. Tutoring sessions are done in English but can be requested to be in Spanish.

DACC Library

Use the library to your advantage. Set up an appointment with a librarian to help you find the right information you need and assist with source citations and paper/presentation formatting. Appointments are individualized and interactive.  Depending on your DACC campus, a number of books, media (DVD, CD, Video Games), journals, and magazines can be checked out for a loan period. If you cannot find the information you need, the InterLibrary Loan enables users to borrow materials from several libraries throughout the United States and Canada. Items can be requested through the library and are free of charge.  Having trouble finding a trustworthy source? The library contains a research guide and database over a variety of subjects, topics, and disciplines that are useful and diverse. DACC libraries also have equipment needed for printing, copying, and scanning services.

DACC libraries offer a quiet space for students looking to read, do homework, or relax between classes. East Mesa has two study rooms with a large TV and docking stations that seat 4 to 6, and one large study room that can seat 12 to 15. Espina also has two study rooms, one seats 3 and one seats 4, with TVs, whiteboards, and docking stations.  Students can reserve a study room for up to 2 hours at a time, and rooms are ADA accessible

Study Rooms are bookable online on the library website

At the Gadsden and Sunland Park campuses, the ARC provides seating and computing next to the Library space.
