Creative Media Technology merges design and digital media into an exciting course of study encompassing various dynamic technologies including print media, web design, multimedia, digital photography, game design, animation, and digital film.
Curriculum The Digital Film degree provides a foundation for students who are looking for professional opportunities in such areas as film making, computer animation, digital video production, and multi-media. The Digital Graphics degree emphasizes graphic design,
print media, and web design, but also includes fundamentals in animation, multimedia, and digital film.
Students may choose to pursue certificates in specialized areas such as graphic design, web design, video production, game design, animation, and crew member training and certification.
Educational Pathways There are several transition tracks available that open the way for graduates of the Creative Media and Digital Graphics associate degree programs to continue their education at New Mexico State University or other educational institutions.
At NMSU, they may pursue bachelor’s degrees through the Creative Media Institute. Other possibilities include bachelor’s degree programs in information communications technology, art, and individualized studies.
High school students who are interested in a career in creative media are encouraged to take courses in art, photography, English, and mathematics.
