Maia Sideris-Dorame

I began working with seniors in high school when I volunteered at a local nursing home.  Around the same time, my grandfather moved in with us, spending the last year and a half of his life suffering with congestive heart failure. Those experiences convinced me that my career should be working with the elderly.  I began my college career in high school obtaining my C.N.A I spent the next 8 years working as a C.N.A in various nursing homes while going to school at NMSU.  I earned an associate’s degree of general studies as well as an associate of public health.

Working for the NM Chapter Alzheimer’s association, I am able to focus my carreer goals on a broader community basis.  Due to my background in both work and through my education, I have gained great knowledge and experience in assessing, planning, and implementing program goals as well as goals for individuals, and working with a wide array of business and families in the counties of; Catron, Grant, Hidalgo, Sierra, Dona Ana, Luna, and Otero.  I have experience in offering education and knowledge to those caring for individuals suffering with Alzheimer’s disease.
