Luis Orozco received his associate degree in water technology in 1992, and was immediately hired by the city of Santa Fe’s wastewater department as an operator trainee. He passed his certification exams and went on to hold positions as a Level III and Level IV operator and as a graveyard supervisor. In February of 2002, Luis was made plant superintendent for the city’s wastewater department. He works closely with the state of New Mexico Environment Department, as well as the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Luis is married to his wife Julie, they have six children and thirteen grandchildren. Luis attributes his success to the knowledgeable, patient, and great instructors that taught him at DACC.
