A native of Lordsburg, New Mexico, Ben La Marca was born on Interstate 10 outside of Las Cruces, a city that would be pivotal to his future. After graduating high school and moving to Las Cruces, he was amongst the first group of students to pass through DACCs emerging creative media program, where he earned an Associates of Applied Science in Creative Media Technology, and later, from NMSU, a Bachelors of Arts and Sciences in Digital Film Making.
After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an editor. Films that he has edited have premiered at South by Southwest and Toronto International Film Festival. He has worked on commercials for Apple, Amazon, Google, Disney, and Fender. His last project, a documentary for the Tomb Raider franchise, is pending release. Over the past six months, he has shifted out of the editing bay in Los Angeles and onto film sets in New Mexico, where he works as a camera head tech for studio films in the flourishing New Mexico film community. He is in the process of moving back to New Mexico
