Lorraine always wanted to go back to school to get her high school diploma. She enrolled in the Adult Education program at DACC in August 2014 and obtained her high school equivalency credential (HSE) in February 2016. Next, she enrolled in classes for SUMMER 2016 and successfully earned 12 credits. Lorraine is working on an Associate of Arts and wants to transfer to NMSU and receive her bachelor’s degree in social work by 2018. Eventually, she wants her Ph.D. Along with a 12-year-old daughter, she is fostering her three grandchildren. In spite of these challenges, Lorraine manages to keep going. She’s learned that we are stronger than we think, need to take life one day at a time and focus on our goals. For those of us who have had the pleasure of working with Lorraine in some capacity, we can attest to the strength of her will and the motivation she exudes.
