Rachel Courtney, production manager for the Las Cruces Bulletin, earned her bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications along with a supplementary major in linguistics from New Mexico State University in 2003. After being introduced to graphic design through her journalism studies, Rachel decided to continue her education at DACC, where she received a certificate in digital graphics technology. At DACC she became proficient with all of the programs she uses each day at the Las Cruces Bulletin. She has been a Las Cruces resident for 21 years and is married to Joel Courtney. While at the Las Cruces Bulletin, Rachel received a first-place award from the New Mexico Press Association for color advertising. She has managed a team over the last 7 years that has won 48 New Mexico Press Association awards and 45 National Newspaper Association awards including a General Excellence Award. She serves on the DACC Digital Graphics Advisory Committee and enjoys making blankets for Project Linus in her free time.
