Patrick Chavez

Pat Chavez started his employment with the New Mexico State University Physical Plant Department on May 15, 1990.  He started as an HVAC Technician and ultimately became the Supervisor for that department.  In 2001 Pat left the University to work for an ESCO as a Project Engineer.  In 2005 he was employed by a NASA contractor at the White Sands Test Facility and served as a Mechanical Systems Specialist.  In 2006, he was offered an opportunity to return to New Mexico State University to serve as the first ever Energy Manager.  Pat is currently the Director of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) at New Mexico State University and is in charge of Utility Operations and Maintenance.  Pat also currently teaches evening classes for the Dona Ana Community College HVAC Trades Department and has been doing this since 1991.
