Travis Brown

A native of Dona Ana County, Travis joined the Las Cruces Fire Department in 1989 and was appointed to the position of Fire Chief in May of 2010. During his career, he has served as a firefighter, an investigator, a lieutenant, a battalion chief, and a deputy chief. Prior to his selection as Fire Chief, Mr. Brown served as the city Fire Marshal for eight years.

Chief Brown received an associate degree in General Studies in May of 2006, and has served as a part-time instructor at DACC. He is married to his wife of 20 years, Suzanne, and they have a daughter Sharlae, 15, and a son Justus, 11.

Travis is a current Board Member of the Red Cross, co-leader for the Taylor Road Turkey 4-H Club, and serves as president of the 10x Youth Shooting Club.
