Library Services for Community Members

Community members are welcome to use the DACC Library! You don't have to be a DACC or NMSU student, or faculty, or staff to use the DACC Library.

Check Out Materials

If you aren't a student, faculty, or staff at DACC or NMSU, we can enter your information in our system and you may use your driver’s license or another form of ID for future checkouts.

Community members may check out up to 3 items at a time. For more information see the Circulation Policy section in the Library Policies page.

Ask a Librarian

Community members are welcome to call, email, chat, or make an appointment with a librarian to help find needed information. See Ask Us! for details.

Use Computers

The East Mesa and Espina DACC Library locations have computers for public use. The Gadsden DACC Library location has one computer available for public use.

Access Library Databases

When visitors are in the physical library and using a library computer, they are able to access all of the DACC Library's electronic databases.

When visitors aren't physically in the library, they may have access to library databases by using these options:

  • The State Library of New Mexico provides library databases to New Mexico residents through the El Portal website.
  • At the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library in Las Cruces, a free library card is available to Dona Ana County, New Mexico residents with a valid photo ID with a current address, or a valid photo ID and a current proof of address, such as a utility bill or lease. With this library card, you will have remote access to the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library's databases.

Use printers and scanners

The use of scanners is free and it costs 5 cents per page to print in black and white.
