A Doña Ana Community College (DACC) Creative Media Technology student’s video was chosen as the winner of the Travel South Central New Mexico video contest.

DACC student Shane Lujan’s video was chosen after a Facebook video contest. The contest featured several videos produced by DACC’s Creative Media Technology program. Students created their own promotional video showcasing traveling to south central New Mexico, which encompasses locations between El Paso, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Lujan’s winning 30-second video comes with a $100 scholarship to be used for the fall semester. “When it comes to film, editing and acting are what I love the most and I spent a lot of time on this project with the intention of winning,” says Lujan.

Lujan adds, “the program itself is amazing and has changed my life in so many ways but I have to give enormous praise to all the teachers and staff whose dedication is easily a huge part of the reason students succeed here. It’s rare to find college teachers and staff who are both very insightful and genuine in wanting to help.”

Lujan’s video is now featured on the Travel South Central New Mexico website at https://www.travelsouthcentralnm.com/new-mexico-video-contest/2021-contest/
