Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is happy to announce Dr. Rigo Rincones as its vice president of Academic Affairs.
Dr. Rincones earned his Ph.D. in educational leadership in 2002 and has since held pivotal roles in academia. He has served as vice president of Academic Affairs at his current institution and several others, along with adjunct faculty positions at numerous colleges and universities. His extensive background in institutional research and his tenure as a long-time manager and data coach with Achieving the Dream underscore his expertise in data-driven decision-making.
“Dr. Rincones brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to academic excellence, positioning him perfectly to lead our academic endeavors at DACC,” says interim chancellor Dr. Andrew Burke.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rincones has honed skills essential for this role. He has successfully managed a diverse range of academic and student support services, led research-driven strategic projects, and overseen accreditation efforts with our regional accrediting body. His experience spans institutions significant to the community college landscape, including Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
During his recent campus visit, Dr. Rincones received enthusiastic feedback from faculty and staff. He was praised for his extensive experience in higher education administration, forward-thinking approach to critical community college issues, and his leadership style, which they described as visionary, collaborative, direct, and empathetic.
“I am confident that under his leadership, our academic programs will continue to thrive and evolve, ensuring the success of our students and the fulfillment of our mission,” adds Dr. Burke.
Dr. Rincones’ appointment is effective July 16th.
