Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel and as you progress, some advanced techniques.

Jan Preston Archey has taught many people how to throw on the wheel and you too, can throw on the wheel! Come to class ready to create and learn something new.  We will learn how to throw bowls, mugs/cups, a lidded container, and a plate. All finished pieces will be food safe and usable. Participants will learn the basics of ‘dip’ glazing. Fired & finished pieces will be picked up at a later date.

WEAR CLOSED TOED SHOES, no flip flops or open-toed sandals, and wear clothes OK to get dirty. Leave rings and bracelets at home. If you have long hair, wear it tied back. Bring an apron and towel.

The studio will provide tools and clay.

Parents need to sign a release understanding their child is participating in a studio where there is equipment that can be dangerous if used improperly.

Additional fee for clay paid to instructor, $6.
