Employment Opportunities and Professional Development 

Health and social assistance is the fastest growing employment sector in the nation due to an aging population, advances in medical care, and other factors.  This sector also contains the fastest growing jobs in Las Cruces and Dona Ana County as well.  WDCR offers several non-credit training programs in the health sector.  These training programs prepare participants for national certifications and licenses.

CPR certification is also offered as well as several Continuing Education Units opportunities in partnerships at Dona Ana Community College faculty and online education providers.  Please click here for more information about CEUs for Health Care Professionals.

WDCR offers several safety certifications including OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and Forklift Certification. Contact us to develop custom safety training programs for your employees or to find out more information.

For other continuing education opportunities in the trades and industrial fields, please contact us. WDCR partners with DACC Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies to offer custom continuing education opportunities, including industry certifications for local businesses.

Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program

Pharmacy Technicians support the work of pharmacists in retail or hospital pharmacies.  They help to prepare medications, assist customers, and manage clinical and business aspects of the pharmacy.

Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate Program

Medical Administrative Assistants support the front office and business work of medical clinics and health-related facilities.  They assist patients with records, appointments, paperwork, and support the work of medical staff.

Veterinary Assistant Program

Veterinary Assistants work in animal clinics or hospitals and support the work of the veterinarian.  They assist with procedures, animal care, and front office management.

OSHA-10/30 General Industry

The OSHA Outreach Training Program is OSHA’s primary way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health. Get an introduction to the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating, and reporting hazards associated with the workplace.

OSHA Forklift Certification

OSHA training in powered industrial truck operation (no experience required). Includes classroom lecture, instructor demonstrations, hands-on performance evaluation, written examination, permit card, and certificate of completion for those who successfully pass the course.

Financial Aid & Assistance
