Emergency Funding:
If you are a student and require emergency funding to help cover expenses, please click on the following link to fill out and submit an application for funding through the CARES Act.

On Friday, March 20, 2020, COVID-19 has been confirmed in Doña Ana County. We ask that you please take precautions during this time and follow the protocol of washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, and physical distancing (keep at least 6 feet from other people).

As of March 30, 2020, all classes at DACC were moved to an online format to combat the spread of COVID-19. Please work with us to ensure a smooth transition, and if you have any questions please contact your instructor or adviser. Below are resources that you can use to assist with your classes during this time.

Keep Learning

Here are a few things you can do to help yourself and your instructors with the transition to online classes:

  1. Make sure you know how to use your official NMSU email account (
  2. DACC VLIT provides training for Canvas and resources to help you with online learning. For more information read/download this PDF guide on How To Be A Successful Online Student At DACC
  3. Make sure your instructor has your working telephone number and check Canvas regularly. Communication with your instructors is crucial to your success for the remainder of the semester.
  4. Your instructors may ask you to use an alternative mode of communication and instruction.
  5. Instructors may use Zoom for your classes. View this guide to learn how to use Zoom in Canvas.

Making Payments

All students are directed to make their payments online at if possible.

S/U Grading

Due to the shortened semester and adjustments that have been made because of COVID-19, students may choose to opt-in to S/U grading until May 6, 2020. If you would like to choose this option, instruction can be found HERE.

Internet Access
  • If you need internet access at home, a list of providers can be found HERE.
  • Xfinity WiFi Hotspots in out-of-home locations are available for free to anyone who needs them to support communities through this challenging time. Follow instructions at to join a hotspot.
Computer Rental

Due to recent events regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, the NMSU ICT Equipment Rental Program has suspended rentals for most items and limited its hours of operation.For the time being, only Desktop Computers and Chromebooks are available to those who need them to study or work from home.

You can find our office at Hardman & Jacobs Undergraduate Learning Center (HJLC) room 103 at NMSU.

Desktop Computers and Chromebook rentals are priced at $10.00.

Currently, the return date for rentals is Friday, May 15th, though this may change as the COVID-19 situation develops.

If the return date changes, renters will be notified by email.

Computer Lab

NMSU has set up a a virtual computer lab that students are able to access using their NMSU credentials. These virtual computers have Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.

NOTE: The virtual labs only allow for 100 connections at a time. If you receive an error messaging when logging in, you will need to wait until a 'computer' opens up.

Printing Services
  • DACC is offering students the following option to assist with your printing needs.

    This option is currently only available at the DACC Espina Campus.  You can email your document to be printed to  In the email please include your name, contact number, and time you would like to pick up your printed documents (Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm).  Printing is limited to 25 pages.


Renting or Buying Textbooks

  • New Mexico State University has selected Follett Higher Education Group to manage its campus store effective 06/17/2020. Due to COVID-19 and campus safety, we will be opening our doors 8/1/2020, but customers can shop online at
Food Security
  • If you need food assistance, a list of local food banks can be found HERE.
Social and Financial Assistance
  • If you find that you need critical financial or social assistance during this time, United Way can offer you support. Please contact them and representatives will assist you. 
  • If you are out of work and in need of food, help paying your bills, or transportation, the City of Las Cruces can offer assistance to those in need.
