The Dona Ana Community College (DACC) Dental Assisting program underwent an accreditation visit on November 14-15, 2017. The next site visit by CODA is scheduled for 2024.
The Dental Assisting Program is part of the Health Sciences Division. Dental assisting students provide help for patients receiving dental care. Their job duties may include preparing equipment, materials, and instruments for patient care; sterilizing and disinfecting procedures; instructing patients about dental procedures; creating temporary crowns; and many other tasks that are invaluable to the patient and the dental practice. Dental assistants may work in a general-practice office where a dentist provides multiple types of treatment.
