Advanced Technologies Scholarships

  • Construction Advancement Alliance Endowed Scholarship
    • Established in 2003 by the organizers of the Construction Advancement Alliance for a New Mexico resident pursuing a degree in Technical and Industrial studies.
      • Must have completed a minimum 12 credit hours
      • Enrolled at least part-time
  • El Paso Electric Electrical Worker Certification Current Use Scholarship
    • Established in 2014 to build upon EPE’s century-long legacy of providing safe and reliable energy service to West Texas and Southern New Mexico. The program will prepare and strengthen the pipeline of individuals with the technical skills necessary to construct, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate utility-scale electric power lines and equipment.
      • Must be authorized to work in the United States
      • Must be enrolled in DACC Lineworker Certificate program and meet all qualifications for enrollment
      • Preference shall be given to a candidate who is at least 19 years of age at time of admission to the program
      • Preference in selection shall be given to graduates of high schools named in Exhibit B (including students who have graduated from a home school or received their GED)
      • Preference for students who have provided a statement of education and career goals
      • Preference in selection shall be given to students with community involvement as demonstrated by information provided in the scholarship application
      • Preference in selection shall be given to qualified veterans of the U.S. Armed Services
      • Preference in selection shall be given to female applicants
      • Preference in selection shall be given to African American applicants
      • Preference shall be given to applicants with prior knowledge of construction methods, electrical trades, related equipment and tools, and safety procedures as evidenced in work experiences described in scholarship application, and
      • Award is renewable each semester contingent on a cumulative grade‐point average of 2.0 with a final grade of C or better in all required OEET courses
  • Cynthia Hiers-Robinson Endowed Scholarship
    • Established in 2004 by Jean Hiers for NM residents pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Water Utility Operations,
      • Must have graduated from a New Mexico high school or earned a New Mexico GED
      • cGPA of 3.0 or better
  • Pruett Family Water Technology Program Endowed Scholarship
    • Established in 2007 by J.B. and Libby Pruett for students who successfully completed their first semester in the Water Technology Program and are enrolled in their  second semester.
      • cGPA of 2.5 or better 
  • Ralph Garza Memorial Endowed Scholarship
    • Established in 2011 by Mary A. Garza for NM residents enrolled full-time at DACC pursuing a degree in Technical Studies.
      • Preference to those in the Electrical Apprenticeship program
      • minimum cGPA 2.5
      • Must demonstrate financial need as indicated by FAFSA
  • Max Summerlot Memorial Scholarship
    • Established in 1980 in honor of Max Summerlot for students in their second year of water technology.
      • Must have a cGPA of 3.0 or better
      • Must demonstrate financial need as indicated by FAFSA
  • Lt. Colonel, (Ret.) Raymond A. Madson, USAF, Memorial Current Use Scholarship
    • Established in 2014 to honor Lt. Col. Raymond A. Madson for students in water technology or a related technical studies program.
      • Must be a New Mexico resident
      • Must demonstrate financial need as indicated by FAFSA
      • Must be enrolled full-time
  • Howard La Mont Kline, (USAF Retired) Endowed Scholarship
    • Established in 2016 by Edward Lopez and Liz Ramirez Lopez. Howard retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as a pilot. This scholarship is offered in honor and appreciation for the mentorship and guidance he provided to the graduates of NMSU-Doña Ana Community College. This endowed scholarship may be eligible for matching funds from the earnings of the Jon Wynne Endowment at the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. (CFSNM).
      • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
      • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7
      • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by official FAFSA results
      • Must complete a statement of education and career goals
      • Preference to students enrolled in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) program
      • Preference for students who are employed at the time of the award
  • Alex A. and Elaine K. Sanchez Technical and Industrial Studies Endowed Scholarship
    • Established in 2016 by Dr. Alex and Elaine Sanchez. Dr. Sanchez was the first president of DACC and served from 1972-1978. DACC was established in 1973. This endowed scholarship may be eligible for matching funds from the earnings of the Jon Wynne Endowment at the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM).
      • Must be enrolled in the Division of Technical and Industrial Studies (Advanced Technologies)
      • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
      • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
      • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by official FASFA results
      • Must complete a personal statement
      • Preference shall be given to students who complete a statement of educational and career goals as part of the scholarship application
