MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: |
·
Graduate of
Accredited Dental Hygiene Program. Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene or
related field. ·
Three years
clinical experience. ·
Eligible for
Dental Hygiene license in |

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: |
·
Masters Degree
in Dental Hygiene or related field. ·
Expertise in
dental sciences such as head, neck, dental anatomy; oral histology/
embryology. ·
Knowledge of
innovative, creative teaching and learning methodologies for post-secondary
students. ·
Experience with
media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs
and delivery. ·
Experience in
developing curriculum, measuring student learning outcomes, evaluating course
efficacy, and assessing and improving student learning. ·
Endorsement of
the teaching philosophy of DACC which supports a goal of success for all
students through active learning experiences and strong faculty involvement. ·
Demonstrated
experience teaching and relating to students from diverse academic,
socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. ·
Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills working with students, colleagues,
staff, supervisors, and the community. ·
Formal teacher
training / experience is recommended. ·
Bilingual
competence in Spanish and English will be considered an asset. |

RESPONSIBILITIES: |
·
Prepare and
teach courses in Dental Hygiene theory, lab, and clinical practice. ·
Teach 16-21
contact hours and maintain 10 hours office hour weekly. ·
Develop, revise
and update curriculum in collaboration with Program Director and department faculty. Assist in collection and reporting for
accreditation documents. ·
Coordinate
clinical schedules & patient assignments, order clinical supplies,
oversee quality assurance protocols. ·
Participate in
department, division, and college committees, program advisory councils, task
forces and working groups. ·
Maintain
professional and academic competence and participate in professional
development activities. ·
Function as
advisor to students, both individually and as assigned to student clubs. ·
Teaching
assignment may include day, evenings, and / or weekends. ·
Other duties as
assigned. |
