Students will be able to:

develop critical thinking skills and social
and cultural perspective through the study of major works of dramatic
literature

enhance comprehension social and creative
expression through examination of a variety of dramatic literature and
performing arts practices encompassing the development of western
theatre, to include historic, philosophical, political, and cultural
influences

develop the ability to examine and recognize
human experience as reflected in theatrical activity across a wide range
of historic and cultural perspectives

utilize knowledge of historic context to
identify and articulate universal social issues and experience, and to
apply this knowledge to understand contemporary modes of expression
