Theater

Students will be able to:

  • develop critical thinking skills and social and cultural perspective through the study of major works of dramatic literature

  • enhance comprehension social and creative expression through examination of  a variety of dramatic literature and performing arts practices encompassing the development of western theatre, to include historic, philosophical, political, and cultural influences

  • develop the ability to examine and recognize human experience as reflected in theatrical activity across a wide range of historic and cultural perspectives

  • utilize knowledge of historic context to identify and articulate universal social issues and experience, and to apply this knowledge to understand contemporary modes of expression
