Sociology

Students will be able to:

  • demonstrate an understanding of the main sociological perspectives – Structural Functionalism, Social Conflict, Symbolic Interactionism and Feminist Theory.

  • demonstrate active critical thinking skills through an ongoing analysis of micro and macro culture.

  • demonstrate an understanding of the diversity within the human species, and the importance of social relations.

  • demonstrate an appreciation for civic responsibility.

  • demonstrate comprehension of basic social science research.
