Paralegal Studies

Students will be able to:

  • Correctly spot the relevant legal issues arising out of diverse fact patterns

  • Correctly apply the law to novel situations

  • Compare and contrast divergent fact patterns

  • Locate, read, understand, and follow procedural rules

  • Write clear, concise, effective, legal memoranda

  • Apply ethical rules to diverse fact patterns

  • Know the general concepts of criminal law and procedure

  • Know the general concepts of civil law and procedure, including torts and contracts

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in the legal profession

  • Understand the terminology used in the legal profession

  • Comport themselves in a professional manner in the workplace

  • Utilize the technology associated with the modern legal office
