Area Vocational School

How does it work?

  • The Area Vocational School (AVS) program allows juniors and seniors to take technical and vocational classes at DABCC.
  • You will take your required classes at your high school and electives with DABCC. You will receive credit toward your high school graduation and credit toward a community college degree at the same time.
  • Don’t know which way to turn? The staff at DABCC will help you pick classes that fit into your interest areas and goals.

How Much Does it Cost?

There is no charge for tuition or textbooks during the regular fall and spring semester. Students pay for their own supplies, for protective apparel, and for tool sets where applicable. To earn a certificate or associate degree from DABCC, students will have to attend additional sessions following high school graduation and pay DABCC tuition and fees. Financial assistance may be available for these sessions.

What Programs are Available?

Classes in the programs listed below are available to AVS students. If you would like more information on these programs, please contact your high school counselor or DABCC. We’d be happy to steer you in the right direction.
