New Mexico State University has provided educational opportunities to military and civilian personnel and their family members at White Sands Missile Range since 1950. In 1989, responsibility for the operation of the White Sands Center was transferred to DACC.
The center offers freshman- and sophomore-level coursework in general education, technical and developmental studies, and several associate degree programs. DACC programs offered at the White Sands Center are open to service members, civilians, and those living in surrounding communities. Only U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens possessing a bona fi de Emigrant Alien Card allowing permanent residency in the United States can attend the White Sands Center, located in Building 465, at the corner of Rock Island
and Dyer streets at White Sands Missile Range. Students attending classes must obtain a post pass and a vehicle pass. Call White Sands Center staff for current procedures.
Academic services for students enrolling in classes are admissions, registration, advising, tuition payment, schedule changes, withdrawals, and purchase of textbooks.
